K-9 Angels definitely live up to their name, because an Angel is what we brought home.

The day we picked up Griffin was the greatest day of my life thus far. Words cannot describe the endless joy my heart has felt and continues to feel on a daily basis. Every single morning as I tip toe out of bed Griffin’s handsome, happy face is waiting to greet me. His soulful eyes always start my day off on a positive note. Griffin is always ready for an adventure. He loves to go hiking with me and never leaves my side. In the summertime you can find us at the beach, Griffin adores the water! Over the last year we have filled Griffin’s days with positive experiences, which has instilled his trust in us. We have even taught him to jump up on the quad and go for a ride. His temperament is phenomenal. He loves to play with other dogs and even our two cats, Chico and Nike. Although we don’t have any children as of yet, Griffin has proven to be great with kids of all ages. Honestly, I could not ask for a better friend.

Contacting Tanya Hainstock of K-9 Angels was the leading factor that eventually led to the happiness I feel today. Her compassion and dedication to her dogs is obvious. The day I picked up Griffin she had tears in her eyes, like a mother watching her baby leave the nest. She truly cares about these dogs and the people they end up with. I continue to have contact with Tanya on a regular basis. If I ever decide that Griffin is ready for a little sister or brother, I will be going right back to K-9 Angels.

As a twenty six year old woman, I feel I have only scratched the tip of the iceberg when it comes to life experience, but I would recommend K-9 Angels with great respect to anyone looking for an outstanding German Shepherd. With Griffin by my side, we are ready to take on the world, conquering one mountain at a time.

When I first made contact with Tanya at K-9 Angels regarding an investment into a puppy, I was pleased to find that she took care enough to ask me questions about my lifestyle and living arrangements before she agreed to me purchasing one. This was just the first indication that I was in for a great dog experience.

Tanya invited me out to her kennels to meet her gang, and allowed me to experience the level of training and love that goes into each of her furry family members. Each was well behaved, healthy, and responded to Tanya in a way that I had not seen before. After a few weeks, Tanya informed me that my preferred pairing had happened and that I had my new puppy on the way.

At eight weeks old, I met Tanya and picked up my new best friend, Tundra. She was sad to see Tundra go, and it was obvious why... Tundra was happy, healthy, and ready to learn. Tanya had done a wonderful job in raising my puppy and even catered to a few obnoxious requests when I picked her out of the litter. Tundra knew her name already, was leash trained, relatively house trained, and  got along quickly with older energetic dogs.

As a police officer, I am constantly getting asked if Tundra is a police dog as she has learned so much and is incredibly healthy and attentive. I've been able to train her to find objects hidden inside containers, open closed / latched doors (a handle, not a knob!) (also which she learned in less than 20 minutes), and remain motionless even when I throw her favorite toy to chase across a soccer field. She also has learned hand signs instead of voice commands for the typical "sit" and "lay down", among quite a few others.

In early 2011, I decided that I would try to find a friend for Tundra and looked locally for one. I actually met the local german shepherd breeder at the dog park, and when I told them that I was looking for another dog, they informed me that they had one that would be perfect for the job, as he was a close relative of my own Tundra. Almost as a testament to K-9 Angel's superior early puppy-hood training, this new 4 month old puppy was an absolute nightmare: little to no training, barely house trained, and not sociable. Without a regret, I returned this new puppy to the breeder after two months of zero progress and extensive training. I did not even ask for a refund. I should have followed my instinct, and gone back to Tanya for another companion.

I will be looking for another puppy in the coming year and after my experience with Tanya and her K-9 Angels program, she had earned, and can expect, my return. Tundra has turned out to be more than I could have ever wanted in a dog and a friend.

Thanks again Tanya. See you in the near future.
